Eventually, people started using the word to describe marginalized artists and musicians in Europe who were known for their untraditional stances on politics, religion, and society. Today, the meaning of the word has morphed to include individuals with a particular look and lifestyle.

Work on a painting, write a song, dance an interpretive dance, relax with Yoga, Pilates, or Tai Chi, have a photoshoot, draw, scrapbook, make jewelry, crochet or knit, create films, slideshows or videos.
